This copy was specially bound for the Kansas Honors Program / Kansas Alumni Association and was presented as The University of Kansas Crowell Book Award to a Kansas Honor Scholar on October 15, 1996. The original personalized presentation bookplate remains inside.

The substantial hardcover dictionary also contains the impressive illustrated reference material for which American Heritage dictionaries are known, including the large two-page Indo-European Family of Languages diagram shown in the photographs.

The dark hardcover features gold-tone lettering and Kansas Honors Program insignia. The exterior shows visible surface rubbing, scratches and other signs of previous ownership and storage. Please review photographs carefully for condition.
